As we get older and our children’s future becomes more important to us, what does it matter how the kitchen table is made, or what the handle on a mug feels like? It was such a dreamy romantic vision to us: fresh from art school, in our twenties and making furniture and pottery by hand in a beautiful place with our friends. (click to continue)

I love making pots for the feeling they give. I am
constantly struck by how making these supposedly “simple” things by hand for everyday use sounds so easy but in actuality is incredibly complex. So much skill, love, care and knowledge is needed to create even the most rudimentary pot. Given the time it then takes to master
the skills needed to be a professional potter, it is no wonder pottery making is still on the "endangered list" of crafts. (click to continue)
