Charlotte “Missy” Lanahan has been working at ShackletonThomas since 1994, when she was offered the opportunity by her sister (Miranda) and Charles to move to Vermont and join their growing company. Charlotte has since worked on developing and implementing strategies related to all aspects of the business. She is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functions of the company, as well as working with furniture sales, and the production and retail teams of ShackletonThomas.

Charlotte grew up in New York, Milan, Italy, and Sydney, Australia. After graduating from the University of Toronto in Canada, she spent 14 years in management consulting in San Diego, California, and Baltimore, Maryland, before joining ShackletonThomas.

An avid runner, Charlotte has competed in three U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and has represented the USA on international running teams. For many years she served on USA Track & Field’s Women’s Long Distance Running Executive Committee and was selected as USA Team Manager for several international teams. Charlotte brings this determination and drive to the marathon of keeping a handmade enterprise alive.

Though no longer competing, Charlotte and her husband still enjoy running in the Vermont hills and helping organize local races. They both look forward each year to the great skiing offered by Vermont’s long winters.
