October 25, 2007 – For United Nations Day this year, internationally renowned Vermont Master Potter Miranda Thomas will contribute her renowned pieces to benefit a global cause, clean drinking water. Thomas created the “Water for Life Bowl,” a limited series of special hand painted porcelain pieces to be auctioned at the United Nations Association of New York’s Humanitarian Awards gala the night of October 25th. Proceeds from the sale of the pieces will benefit efforts to provide clean water to people in the developing world.

One year ago, at the UNA-NY’s Gala Dinner in honor of Secretary General Kofi Annan, Thomas presented a specially commissioned bowl to the retiring Secretary General as a thank you from the organization for his years of service.
