Jim Blanchard
Master Furniture Maker
Jim Blanchard has been making furniture for ShackletonThomas since 1993. He came to us as a carpenter and Army veteran and has practiced his skills to become a master. He and his wife have raised their three sons in that time and he enjoys hiking and hunting ginseng.

Shea Rodgers
Workshop Manager & Master Furniture Maker
Shea hails from Boise, Idaho, moving to Vermont for adventure and its rich furniture making tradition. He started making furniture as a hobbiest in his early twenties, eventually working for a Boise custom furniture co and teaching at a makers' space. He chose ST for the opportunity to develop his fine woodworking skills. Chairs are his favorite thing to make for their complexity and smaller scale. He lives nearby with his wife and their Great Dane, Winston.

Connor Rockwell
Workshop Assistant & Furniture Maker
Having spent the majority of his life in New Hampshire, Connor brings a diverse background in healthcare administration and high school education, including woodshop, to his current role. What began as a hobby nine years ago has blossomed into a full-time passion for crafting handmade furniture. Outside of work, Connor enjoys spending time outdoors with his three beautiful daughters and wife. On weekends, he tackles house projects, goes swimming, and tends to his cats, dogs, and chickens. Connor especially appreciates the team's collective wisdom and willingness to share knowledge about building furniture, finding deep fulfillment in creating pieces built to endure for generations.

Art Baker
Master Upholsterer
Vermont native Art Baker has been with us since 1999, coming into the accessories department and then upholstery. His favorite aspect of work is hand tying springs in chairs. When not working, he enjoys his game cameras in all seasons, likes to hunt, fish, go to yard sales, makes his own maple syrup on a wood fire, and he splits his firewood by hand. He went to the National Championship for Softball as a first baseman and enjoys all sports. He has two grown sons and lives with his dog surrounded by nature.

Logan Davis
Information Technology & CNC Operator
Logan grew up on Seneca Lake in upstate New York. He does everything tech and machine related for the company as well as running his own company. He enjoys what he does because "at the end of the day, building something that does hard work is easier than working hard."

Troy Woods
Master Furniture Maker
Troy, a Hanover, New Hampshire native, started his journey in furniture restoration at just 12 years old, and continued woodworking throughout high school. His academic path took a turn after a year of mechanical engineering at the University of New Hampshire; he moved to Houston, Texas, to earn dual degrees in Studio Art and Art History from the University of Houston. This unique foundation propelled him to open his own cabinet shop and establish a notable career as a full-time sculptor. His striking wood and stainless steel pieces have been exhibited in major cities like New York, Houston, and Chicago, and remain part of the U.S. Treasury collection. Today, Troy finds deep satisfaction in carrying on the legacy of generations of makers and the Bridgewater Mill. When he's not in the workshop, he spends his free time fly fishing at his favorite spots.

Dave Smith
Master Furniture Maker
Hailing from Buffalo, NY, Dave Smith's journey to becoming a seasoned furniture maker began with his passion for music. From a young age, he loved playing the bass and banjo, eventually building his own instruments out of both necessity and curiosity. This early fascination blossomed into a 23-year career in Rhode Island, where he built string instruments before relocating to Vermont. At Shackleton, Dave especially enjoys being assigned a single build that he can see through from start to finish. In his free time, he embraces the outdoors by biking, hiking, camping, and snowmobiling.

Carson Jones
Apprentice Furniture Maker

Micah Schlabach

When not at work, Micah likes to stay active with hiking, lacrosse, and mountain biking. What truly stands out to Micah about ShackletonThomas is the strong sense of camaraderie, supportive environment, and the tight-knit relationships shared among colleagues.
