14" Large Cream Carved Peony Tabletop Platter
Hand-thrown by Evan Williams | Decorated by Jess King
Elegant in scale and rich in detail, this large tabletop platter is both a functional serving piece and a work of art. Hand-thrown by Evan Williams, the form offers a generous, gently curved surface framed by a refined rim which is perfectly suited for gathering and presentation.
Master potter Jess King decorated the surface of this platter using the traditional slip-carving technique that defines Miranda Thomas’ signature style. A layer of cream slip is carefully applied and carved away to reveal the intricate drawing of blooming peonies and scrolling vines. The design moves fluidly across the platter, creating depth and quiet contrast between rich stoneware clay and creamy white slip.
Whether anchoring a dining table with a beautifully prepared meal, displaying seasonal fruit, or serving as a statement piece on a console or wall, this platter brings craftsmanship and artistry into everyday life.
A harmonious collaboration of form and surface, designed to be used, admired, and shared.
