Devonshire Cereal Bowl
Made By Hand in Vermont
Like the early historic Devonshire wares, the exterior surface is left unglazed, and un-decorated. This impervious raw unglazed surface of the pot reveals the clay’s inherent beauty and captures the potters hand impressions as the pots are formed on the wheel or patted over a simple hump mold. The interiors are glazed in an opalescent dark green celadon glaze. They are fired in a stoneware reduction kiln to 2360 degrees.
The result is elegant, durable, beautiful and like their predecessors, ready for everyday life.
This collection is a celebration of contrasts: the matte raw with the glossy glazed; the warm clay color with the cool green-blue. It reads as both traditional and modern, making it a long time favorite.
