Josh’s Pedestal Table
Made By Hand in Vermont
The Josh's Pedestal Table is a masterwork of traditional woodworking, meticulously handcrafted in our Bridgewater, Vermont workshop. Named in honor of Josh Metcalf—a close friend and furniture-making mentor to Charles Shackleton—this piece represents a collaborative and soulful interpretation of classic Georgian design.
The table is defined by its exceptional attention to detail and traditional hand-worked finishes:
-
Artisanal Base: The foundation consists of three elegantly hand-carved legs that support a central, hand-turned column.
-
Architectural Harmony: The tabletop features a refined thumbnail edge, specifically designed to echo the delicate bead detail found at the base of the pedestal.
-
Premium Materials: Crafted from high-quality solid hardwoods, selected for their rich grain and enduring strength.
-
Heirloom Quality: Every surface is hand-rubbed to a silky-smooth, lustrous sheen that protects the timber while highlighting its natural character.
Combining historical inspiration with expert craftsmanship, the Josh's Pedestal Table serves as a timeless centerpiece for intimate dining or as a sophisticated addition to a foyer.
